John 4:27–42 “The Food of Christ”

Main Point: Christ’s food is to do the Father’s will and build His church through the power of His death, burial, and resurrection.

I. Encountering Christ sets us on a new mission (vv. 27–30).

II. The food of Christ is to do the Father’s will by building His church (vv. 31–38).

Deuteronomy 8:3, “And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Matthew 4:2–4; John 6:38–40; Amos 9:13

III. Jesus is the Savior of the World (v. 39-42).

Acts 1:8; John 17:1–4
